Yesterday I (and my groupmates) worked on our senior design project for 8 hours. In a row. Yeah. That was not the best thing ever. But we didn't kill each other and we did get a lot done. But not everything.
After that brain-melting experience I took a little break, a little bath, a little supper, and headed out. Friend Erica's birthday was this week and so we did a tour of Clemson's downtown complete with bar-hopping, shots, ex-boyfriend sightings and near catfights.
As a special treat, some young co-eds were "golfing" through downtown in scandalous argyle outfits. (Yeah argyle can be scandalous.) Apparently one of the "holes" was acquiring a young man's shorts. We discovered this when we saw two giggling girls follow a gentleman to the men's room and come running back out whipping a pair of boxers over her head lasso-style. Later we overheard some boys discussing which of the young ladies he'd give up his shorts to. Very classy.
Words of the day: Hussies, Unmentionables.
Made it home eventually and had to be on campus early again, but not early enough for McDonald's breakfast. Sigh.
Leaving for Ashville in an hour for a wedding. Expect photos of me looking fabulous. My hair is the hottness. So will be my shoes.

Barack-ing South Carolina
Needless to say, I'm happy. Barack rocked South Carolina hard core.
The best part is that Saturday night I was in this crappy bar in Greenville where a group of young Obamarama-ists were partying on after a long day of campaigning. I know this, not from talking to them (I'm unfriendly) but, from their t-shirts, stickers, practical walking shoes, exhausted faces, drunkenness, and their tireless shrieks of joy every single time Barack's face or polling numbers flashed across the screen on CNN--which was frequent.
So that was entertaining. Plus I was in G-Vegas with Melissa and JD & Jennifer and Josh & Ann and Kerry. A very quality group of bar mates.
Also, Sunday Melissa and I saw 27 Dresses. It was pretty romantic-comedy-tastic. Kathrine Heigl is always funnier than I expect her to be and James Marsden is totally hot. Plus there's a scene where the two dance on the bar singing "Benny and the Jets", one of my all-time favorite Elton John songs. Love it.
Coming up in life-- Weddings in Ashville, Super Bowl, papers about the influence of Ariel and Caliban in modern Mexican literature. Yeah. Be jealous.

Barack Day!!!
Today Barack is coming to Clemson.
My joy runneth over. Michelle and I are ready to camp out for good seats/spots. Security around this place is tight.
I actually have no idea what else to say about this. But you know I'm excited.
Wanna hear an awesome story about making friends? Last night at TTT I saw this guy from my spanish class (whose name I don't know, whom I've never spoken to) and I remembered that my espanol-speaking friend Michelle is always looking for spanish-talkers to practice with. So we go over to him and I'm like, "Hi, I don't remember your name."
He says, "Ah, me llamo Pablo, que tal?"
Then I mumble something in spanglish because I've had several beers and its insanely loud in this bar and I don't understand a word of his response but in fantastic Michelle-style she jumps in and starts habla-ing with him so I turn to introduce myself to the rest of the group. Immediately, the kid next to Pablo goes, "You're in my spanish class."
Um, sure. I've never seen this kid before in my life. But, I'm not friendly in class so its possible. Turns out Casey is in my Lit class, and studied abroad at Pablo's university and now Pablo is here. In the meantime Michelle is inviting strangers to her house so she can feed them. Awesomeness.
The end.
Vote Barack.

Year of the Pig
Happy Chinese New Year!
As we usher in the year of the Pig, I'm sad that I'm not doing it in Hong Kong. I'm homesick for my Asian homeland. :( I did make an effort; Dana, Melissa and I went out for Chinese food tonight. I wore my Chinesey clothes, some jade jewelry, and a barrette I got in Stanley Market.
Other topics. Dana was almost kidnapped by a very aggressive man in TigerTown last night. He thought Dana was pretty (which he is) and gay (not so much.) It was pretty much the funniest thing ever. When his first attempt failed he tried winning over all the lovely ladies Dana was traveling with (fag-hags). That also failed, because we all just started hanging on Dana like we were all dating him. Eventually we had to leave to escape. This guy was very persistent.
Not much else is new at the moment. I took my first Electrical Engineering Exam on Thursday. I don't think I failed it as horribly as I expected to, but we'll see. On deck this week is 2 IE exams and a Spanish test. Blech. Next time I post I may have abandoned school to become a stripper. Stay tuned!
Vote Barack.
